Motorsport photographer in Belgrade (Serbia) and Vladimir (Russia). Elena Chesnokova sport photographer in Vladimir and Belgrade

Hi!

I’m Lena, a photographer specialising primarily in motorsport. I also work in portrait photography.

I’ve been a photographer since 2005 and have been regularly covering motorsport events since 2022.

What interests me about motorsport is not only speed and race action, but also the people whose work, relationships and presence shape a race weekend: drivers and their families, coaches, mechanics, marshals and spectators. My coverage therefore combines the essential racing imagery with documentary scenes from the paddock, preparation, practice sessions, debriefs and life around the racing itself.

Over the past few years, I’ve photographed a range of motorsport disciplines in Russia and Serbia, including karting, rally and rally sprint, circuit racing, drifting, autoslalom and motocross. In 2023–2024, I worked with the organisers of the Russian Open Rally Cup series. Since 2025, I’ve been covering major karting competitions as an accredited photographer, including Karting Regionov (Karting of Regions), Rotax Max Russia, and the Russian Karting Championship and Cup.

The way I work depends on the assignment. It might mean dedicated coverage of a single driver throughout a race weekend, following several drivers and the inner workings of a team, or telling the broader story of an event for an organiser. In each case, I want to show not only what happens on track, but also the people, work and environment that make the racing possible.

Alongside motorsport, I continue to work in portrait photography. In portraits, I’m interested in character, a natural presence in front of the camera, and images that are expressive without feeling artificial.

I’m based in Serbia and available for assignments across Serbia and the Balkans, in Russia, and elsewhere in Europe.
